Full range of business activities:
FHB was founded in 1992. Six years later, a former
military district was transformed into today's FHB campus with renovated buildings alongside
newly constructed buildings. The FHB has three departments and offers attractive, cutting-
edge degree courses in three disciplines: engineering, business administration and economics
as well as information technology and media. Now, more than 2.300 students are enrolled.
FHB is a Member of the Europractice Organisation and has experience in Design of Hard-and-Soft ware.

Role in the project:
For the planned project, FHB is able to design signal processing chips in
SiGe:C-technology. So FHB can realize a full digital design for TCSPC applications with
time resolution down to 10ps and up to 8 channels per chip. The fabrication of the circuit
chips  will be paid to a specialised semiconductor foundry, fully equipped for SiGe:C
integrated circuits. Past experience in the development of integrated circuits gives us
confidence to be able to obtain fully engineered circuits suitable for industrial production.

Qualification for these roles:
Projects in the past three years were mainly the development
and design of a ECL cell library in cooperation with IHP, adviCo GmbH and PicoQuant
GmbH. Access to standard cell libraries with digital elements for clock frequencies up to
30GHz, published on EUMW2006 Workshop (Manchester). One actual reference project uses
this technology for very fast data transmissions.
